Trade Winds - Origami Boat Workshops

Trade Winds - Origami Boat Workshops

As part of the Trade Winds show we have a wonderful paper boat art installation. Some boats will be floating in the water, others will be along the grass, hanging from trees and all will be lit with LED lights to create a beautiful area for the performance to take place. We are hoping that your students might contribute to this installation by creating their own boats to be displayed on the night.

An important part of the performance is a sense of cultural exchange. Included in the performance are boats with messages from all of our previous performances from around the world. These messages have been everything from cultural proverbs, wise words from people’s families, words about traveling, boats, migration or even wishes. To continue in the spirit of cultural exchange, we invite participants to add their own boat and message to the collection. These boats would also be collected and displayed during the performance.
