THE SPIEGELTENT IS BACK FOR 2024!
Party-lovers rejoice – Darwin Festival has announced that the hugely popular Spiegeltent returns this year with an extravagant new show called The Party that promises to deliver an unforgettable night of cabaret and sexy circus.
The Spiegeltent shows are renowned for their lavish sets, risqué humour and opulent costumes, and The Party, which has been touring nationally, takes it up a notch. It’s the perfect Festival celebration featuring unbelievably talented international circus artists, great music, extravagant costumes and an escalating energy within a theatre set unlike anything you’ve seen before in The Spiegeltent.
“Last year, The Spiegeltent’s Blanc de Blanc Encore show was an incredible hit and the same talented people have created this new extravaganza, The Party. We’re thrilled that audiences can again experience the extraordinary talents and outrageous performances of these artists – there really is nothing like it,” said Darwin Festival Artistic Director Kate Fell.
The Spiegeltent is a glamorous and world-famous big-top tent beautifully decorated with mirrors, stained glass, velvet and brocade to create an unforgettable old-world feel. It will return to the expanded and always entertaining Festival Park Precinct which is situated in the heart of the city, popping up on Sitzler Festival Lawn, in front of Parliament House.
Scott Maidment, Director and Founder of Strut & Fret, the internationally acclaimed company behind the show, said: “The Party brings together everything you love about Strut & Fret shows – the lavish costumes, the incredible aerials and acrobatics, but this show takes risqué humour to a new level.
“The high-octane dance numbers and the incredible soundtrack with its mix of old-school and recent party anthems gets the audience up dancing at interval and at the end. It really does feel like an actual party as much as it does a show!”
Tickets for The Party are on sale now and with last year’s show selling fast, party-lovers are urged to get it quick to make sure they can experience the party to end all parties.
