We’re bringing the Festival fun to Palmerston!
For the first time, join us in Palmerston for a packed weekend of family-friendly fun, entertaining performances, roving artists, market stalls, food, music, laughs and more.
On Friday 16 August from 5pm – 9pm check out Family Fiesta, a night of non-stop fun and adventure for the whole family.
Be entranced by the cheeky and charismatic Sean Choolburra with his Didj & Dance show. Sing along at the ultimate live gig for young families from ARIA Award winners The Teeny Tiny Stevies. Marvel (and laugh) at the antics in Lisa Pellegrino’s Kids Variety Hour and get your fill of food and goodies from the market stalls – but look out for the giant seagulls ready to swoop the crowd. The 18-piece Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band will give the party a blast of brass and DJ Guru Dudu will keep you moving and grooving in a Silent Disco walking tour. So much fun – and it’s all free!
Then on Saturday 17 August it’s time for a line-up of side-splitting comedy all-stars that will have you in stitches. Grab a drink or a bite to eat before the show and settle in for an uproarious night at Palmerston Laugh Out Loud.
Comedy legend, Merrick Watts, will bring the house down as MC, guiding you through a comedy gala night like no other. Darwin favourite Dilruk Jayasinha – without question one of Australia’s most in-demand funny guys – returns to the Top End with his trademark brand of positive and upbeat laughs. Joining him as headliner is one of a kind, force of nature Nikki Britton weaving tales from her chaotic life with physical hilarity and lightning wit that’ll make your face hurt. Local legend Kelly Gulliver puts her hilarious Darwin spin on this night of fun, which includes a full-power, soul-fuel live music experience from beloved band The Neo.
Tickets for Palmerston Laugh Out Loud on sale when the full Darwin Festival program launches on Thursday 29 May.
