Your Guide to the Final Week of Darwin Festival
The party is nearly over, and this is your last chance to soak up the Festival vibes, see some awe-inspiring artists and find your magical moment.
Have you caught The Party in the Spiegeltent yet? If not, there are only 8 more shows. The performers are loving the Darwin crowds so let’s pack it out this week for the party to end all parties! And while you are there, everyone is talking about FLIGHT and SÉANCE – make sure you start or end your night with these 20 minute thrilling experiences.
We’re finishing the festival with the laughs. Comedy for all tastes and persuasions is here for you on INPEX Sunset Stage with a week of pure joy and laughter featuring fearless and hilarious Anne Edmonds; fast, funny and unflinchingly honest it girl of comedy Nina Oyama; and the guide you need on a hilarious trip around the world, He Huang.
Have you brought the kids to Festival Park yet? Kids of all ages are loving Lost Dogs Disco, not to mention the food and the ice-cream, plus this weekend we have a gorgeous show where the whole family will love the foot-stomping, rib tickling, toe tapping time of your life at Proudfoot & Friends.
There have been lots of magical moments in the theatres where we’ve been blown away by some exceptional shows and this week is no exception. Take a wild ride to paradise to explore the impermanence of life, love and ice-cream – in the dazzling Paradise or the Impermanence of Ice Cream, set in the vibrant city of Mumbai. Spooky silliness meets jaw-dropping circus in the ghoulish journey that is Party Ghost and saddle up for the ride of your life with Nicci Wilks in Rodeo Clown.
The dance floor in INPEX Sunset Stage for the music and into Club Awi has been going off each week so if you’re after a true celebration of dance music with impeccable grooves and synth explorations, Harvey Sutherland Live is your night.
And as the festival is coming to a close, we up the ante with three magical concerts as the setting sun provides a stunning backdrop at the iconic Darwin Ski Club. New Zealand’s Marlon Williams, a once-in-a-generation talent, will captivate you with his effortlessly distinctive tone and heartstring-plucking vibrato; Kate Miller-Heidke will be a beautiful celebration of voice, storytelling, and humour; and get ready to shimmy, shake and sing your way through an evening of crowd faves and new tunes by everyone’s favourite The Cat Empire.
Darwin – this is your festival and we love that you are having an awesome time! Lets all come together this week to share in a beautiful celebration of arts and culture of the Top End.
