MISSY HIGGINS

The Second Act Tour 2024

Celebrating The Sound of White 20th Anniversary

More Info

Missy Higgins is one of Australia’s most beloved singer/songwriters.

She has struck a deep and enduring chord with her irresistible melodies and arrow through the heart lyrics, all delivered by a striking voice that clearly means it.

Now Missy performs as part of Darwin Festival’s opening weekend in a two-act show celebrating 20 years of one of the biggest and most influential albums in Australian music history, and the next phase in her extraordinary career.

The first set includes brand-new songs, plus a few fan favourites from early in her career, all played in stripped back, acoustic mode. Then it’s time to sing along to all the classics including ‘Scar’, ‘Ten Days’ and ‘The Special Two’, as Missy is joined by her full band to perform The Sound of White in its entirety, along with a host of other hits. Supported by Prayer Corby, with her voice like an angel, and always dazzling Leah Flanagan.

The Sound Of White has sold a million copies and received six ARIA Awards, and its classic songs have inspired dozens of young Australian women – including major artists like Amy Shark, Gretta Ray, Gordi and Angie McMahon.

Support comes from Prayer Corby, with her voice like an angel, and the always dazzling Leah Flanagan.

With a life lived in the laid-back tropical climes of Darwin, Leah brings a refreshing authenticity to her work. You can hear and feel the depth of emotion she invests in her songs and the honest stories that populate them. On stage you’ll also experience some of the tales and inspiration behind Leah’s songs and enlivened by a rich musicality – whether backed by a full band, string quartet or solo with guitar in hand.

Growing up immersed in Darwin’s music scene through her father (who has over 30 years of experience under his belt in music himself) Prayer started as a six-year-old getting up on stage to sing a song with her dad, which turned into her playing festivals alongside some incredible artists such as Amy Shark, Angus and Julia Stone, Shepard and more. Prayer’s soulful voice and laidback tunes are sure to leave an impression.

Don’t miss this special celebratory concert event under the stars.
